Walking into a chiropractor’s office for the first time can feel exciting—but it can also bring up a few nerves or questions. At Cuyuna Chiropractic, we want you to feel comfortable, confident, and cared for every step of the way. Whether you’re coming in for back pain, headaches, sports injuries, or pregnancy care, here’s what you can expect at your first visit with Dr. Stephanie Vlaminck, D.C., CCSP®—or as most people call her, Dr. Steph.

Dr. Steph, owner of Cuyuna Chiropractic, Ironton, MN

Step 1: A Warm Welcome

When you arrive at our cozy Ironton clinic, you’ll be greeted with a smile and a peaceful atmosphere. We’ll make sure your paperwork is complete and answer any questions you have. If you filled out your intake form online ahead of time—great! If not, we’ll walk you through it in-office.

Step 2: One-on-One Conversation

Dr. Steph takes time to truly listen. You’ll talk about:

  • Your current symptoms or concerns

  • Any past injuries or surgeries

  • Your lifestyle, work, and activity level

  • Your health goals

This isn’t just about your spine—it’s about you as a whole person.

Step 3: Examination

After your chat, Dr. Steph will perform a thorough chiropractic examination. This may include:

  • Posture evaluation

  • Range of motion testing

  • Orthopedic and neurological tests

  • Gentle palpation of your spine and joints

If needed, she may recommend imaging (like X-rays), but most patients are ready for treatment the same day.

Step 4: Your First Adjustment

Once Dr. Steph has gathered all the information she needs, she’ll explain her findings and treatment plan. If it’s appropriate and you’re comfortable, you’ll receive your first chiropractic adjustment during this visit.

Adjustments are tailored to your body and comfort level. Dr. Steph uses a variety of techniques—ranging from gentle mobilizations to hands-on adjustments—to ensure you feel safe and supported.

Step 5: What’s Next?

You’ll leave with a clear understanding of your next steps, which may include:

  • Follow-up visits

  • Home exercises or stretches

  • Supportive therapies (like acupuncture or soft tissue work)

  • Wellness tips specific to your lifestyle

You’re in Good Hands

Dr. Steph has over 15 years of experience and holds certifications in Sports Chiropractic (CCSP®), Webster Technique for pregnancy, and Acupuncture. Her goal is to help patients of all ages move better, feel better, and live healthier.
